Experiment: drawing orbits with plain SVG

Ellipses, a few circles and one CSS animation instead of a 3D library for the hero illustration.

Gateway renders a 3D universe. The journal only needs a nod to it, so the hero uses inline SVG: three tilted ellipses, four small bodies and a dashed line for the path not yet travelled.

Each body is a link to a section of the journal, so the illustration doubles as navigation. The bodies are positioned with plain coordinates; the only animation is a single settle on load, defined in CSS and removed for reduced motion.

Code: css
@media (prefers-reduced-motion: reduce) {  .orbit-body { animation: none; }}
Illustration: a circle split into a light half and a dark half, crossed by an orbit, with a sun on one side and a crescent moon on the other.
